Regular meeting of the city council present Mayor Mooney
councilmen Blessing, Curran, Lamb, Randall, Schultz, Chaffer,
Thornton;
Ilinutes read of the last regular meeting and approved;
Report of the police department read and filed;
Motion passed to reject all garbage bids as received the
motion passed the unanimous vote of the council.
Councilman Chaffer reported that the employees reporgs
were not up to standard as yet, by next meeting he thought
they would be in better shape.
Letter read from the h.P.Railway, State Ilighr�ay Engineers
King County Commissioners and Chief of Police.
Rangers attended the meeting and explained the duties of
th&r organization.
Resolution No. 340 for the annexation of certain property
to the city limits and setting a hearing on monday, the 16th,
of November 1953 at 810clock P X. at the city hall, and for
the Clerk to post notices according to law.
Hearing on the 1954 budget, no one appeared against or for
the budget as prepared for inspaction, the hearing was de-
clared closed. Budget Ordinance read and motion made to
adopt the ordinance, amendment Trade and passed by role -call
vote to place in the budget office rent for the city attorney
0198.00 in maintenance 8 operation of the General Fund,
Chaffer voting ney. Motion passed to adopt the budget as
read and including the amendment as passed, by the unanimous
roll call vote.
.Councilman Shaffer reported to the council that the
employees work sheets were not up to par, but thought that
by next regular meeting they should show a great improvement.
Ordinanc6 setting; up the Talc Levy for the year of 1954
by motion passed the unanimous vote of the council.
Ordinance setting up a pension € relief system for the
Vol. Firemen passed the unanimous vote of the council accept
Randall he refrained from voting.
Gardner E Hitchings our Engineers for a report on our
water system for a greater source explained the various
ways that we could gain more supply of water.
John Hauge appeareO before the council and requested that
he be teleived from his duties as dump caretaker of this date.
resignation accepted.
Notion passed. to have the Iiayor A Clerk sign an agreement
with a hauler of garbage until such time the city coui,
purchase equipment to haul thier own garbage.
Kotion for clerk to call for bids on a garbage truck, with
the recommendation of the Health & Sanitation Committee for
specifications.
