Regular meeting of the City Council present Mayor Tiooney,
Councilmen Blessing, Curran, Pozzi, Randall, Schultz, Shaffer,
Thornton;
Ninutes read and approved of the last regular meeting;
Report of officers read and filed;, ,3ud;et, Treasurer's and
Clerkfs .
Councilman Thornton reported that lie had a model ordinance
on gas stations, and he would submit his recommendations at
the heat regular meeting.
Councilman Blessing reported that the inventories have
been taken on contents of the various buildings and they would
be turned over to ilr. Hell for insurance adjustments.
Thornton reported that the Cemetary road at the foot of
the hill was in very bad need for some 111glht oil.I'lotion paseded
to have a light coat of oil applied be fore Decoration Day.
notion passed to have the street crew replace the old drain
box on the mast side of State Ave. South of Smith St. to the
first alley, and to supply the labor to tay a tile on Smith
East of ;Mate Ave. to connect to the Creek at I_ennebeck, the
property ormers to furnish the the on this job, on Smith St.
Letter read from the Green Diver ;')portsmanIs As;_ociation
requesting; the council to grant permit lion to Patrolman F oxley
to take an active part in the Conservation ilamp at Orcas lsland
August 2-8. I.iotion passed to extend the request, and this
action was approved by the Chief of Police.
Letter read from Loy Scout Conuiiittee thanking the Playor and
Council for the special day set aside for the -"coots in local
government program.
Resignation read and accepted from T.L.�-'Jallace as member
of the Park Board to take affect June lst. an also resignation
from Glenn Omey also member of the Park oard. notion for
clerk to write each a letter in appreciation of the sp1_ended
work they have done in the past five years.
Petition received from the School_ District asking to have
a part of North State Ave. and a. portion of an alley vacated
that abutts teir property. Ilotion to place petition on file,
and resolution read for the vacation of said street and alley
as petitioned by the signers. Motion passed to adopt the
Resolut ion for the vacation of portions of street and alley,
as sketch maps sho.,rs attached to petition, and setting a
hearing on June 15th. at 8101clock P.I'i.. Clerk was instructed
to post notices according to law for the vacation.
Councilman Curran recommended to the council_ that the
restriction on the clerk's office be removed on granting out-
side water connections, and the office be limited to t.rater
connections up to and including?; 211, above that size it to be
brought to the attention of the council. for action.
i•Iatter of the purchase of a billing; machine for the use of
billing water, garbage nd sewage accounts, was laid over for
investigation of various machines before a call for bids was
issued.
The stop signs at James St. &, Jason Ave. was removed by
some dicontented party, and the street crew was ordered to
repalce them and construct them so that it would be more of
an effort to take them out., and the attorney was instructed
to look up the law in regard to offdering a reward for the
arrest and conviction of the person that removes the signs.
Rod reported to the council that the County is cutting tr
trees along the water shed at the source of supply, and have
taken down the gate, for reason of establishing a wider right -
away. I,totion for City Attorney to get in touch with the
County officials and let them shotir proof of the action taken.
Motion for City Engmneer to get intouch �rith the County
Engineers and find out from them of such ri;htaFay that extends
in behind the fence of our water systm property, and if they
have not made an accurate survey, i'or the City Mnniineer then
to establish our lines.

ed of the council to purchase "el -Ter Pipe nad water pipe for
the park grounds on North Central Ave.
Motion passed to instruct tte clerk to call for bids on
700 ft. of 211 inch water pipe, and serer pipe.
