Regular meeting of the City Council present Mayor Tiooney, Councilmen Blessing, Curran, Pozzi, Randall, Schultz, Shaffer, Thornton; Ninutes read and approved of the last regular meeting; Report of officers read and filed;, ,3ud;et, Treasurer's and Clerkfs . Councilman Thornton reported that lie had a model ordinance on gas stations, and he would submit his recommendations at the heat regular meeting. Councilman Blessing reported that the inventories have been taken on contents of the various buildings and they would be turned over to ilr. Hell for insurance adjustments. Petition received from the School_ District asking to have a part of North State Ave. and a. portion of an alley vacated that abutts teir property. Ilotion to place petition on file, and resolution read for the vacation of said street and alley as petitioned by the signers. Motion passed to adopt the Resolut ion for the vacation of portions of street and alley, as sketch maps sho.,rs attached to petition, and setting a hearing on June 15th. at 8101clock P.I'i.. Clerk was instructed to post notices according to law for the vacation. Councilman Curran recommended to the council_ that the restriction on the clerk's office be removed on granting out- side water connections, and the office be limited to t.rater connections up to and including?; 211, above that size it to be brought to the attention of the council. for action. i•Iatter of the purchase of a billing; machine for the use of billing water, garbage nd sewage accounts, was laid over for investigation of various machines before a call for bids was issued. The stop signs at James St. &, Jason Ave. was removed by some dicontented party, and the street crew was ordered to repalce them and construct them so that it would be more of an effort to take them out., and the attorney was instructed to look up the law in regard to offdering a reward for the arrest and conviction of the person that removes the signs. Rod reported to the council that the County is cutting tr trees along the water shed at the source of supply, and have taken down the gate, for reason of establishing a wider right - away. I,totion for City Attorney to get in touch with the County officials and let them shotir proof of the action taken.
