Regular meeting of the City Council present I.Iayor 1dooney, Councilme Blessing, Curran, Pozzi, Randall, Schultz, Thornton; Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting; Report of officers read and file, Budget Clerk's €; Treasurers; Motion passed to call the P.S.P.�;.L.CO and give them the O.K. to remove light standard while house on Vilest I'ieeker is being moved. Motion passed to have Kent News Journal correct their statment in the last weeks issue in regard to having to create an Emergency to finish the repair work at the Blue banner Foods, this extra work was cared for in the contract, for unforeseen .repair work and it being allowable in the contract. !-Ions Rod the Water Superintendent made a very interesting report on the water works convention that he attended at Portland Oregon. Letter read .from a Mr. PAIathieson of the University of Washington requesting to be engaged to look into all the aspects of our stream pollution. IZotion passed to have the clerk write a letter explain- ing that we had all matters of the sort taken care of. Lotion passed to have the Police &I, Fire Committees with the Fire Chief present to the council a suggestive ordinance controlling gas stations in regard to fire regulations. Iiotion passed to have the street committee work Faith i,Tr. Peterson of East Titus, in regard to a drive way into his garage. Motion passed to have the City Atto rney draw an ordinance for the controll of beer in passesion of minors. Councilman Thornton reported on a trip to Bremerton that he and councilman Curran made in behalf of the city council and jTayor, to look into various phases of city govert;ment. Bids were opened and read for the purchase of a new police car three bids were received, !Motion made to accept the bid of Kent I'Iotors, but failed passage for lack of a second. Lotion passed to lay bids over for two weeks to be studied by the Police and Fire Committee for recommendations.
