Regular meeting of the City Council present Mayor Mooney,
Councilmen Blessing, Curran, I'ozzi, Randall, Schultz, Thornton;
Minutes read and approved of the last .regular meeting;
Report of officers read and filed, Clerks, Treasurers, and
I3udget ;
Contract with Carey & Kramer for the re-design of a treatment
plant was read, and Resolution No. 333 was read and by motion
adopted by the council present for the redesign of the plant,
and for the Mayot and clerk to sign same.
Resolution Np. 334 was read and adopted by motion by the
council present , for Carey & Kramer to proceed with the redesign
of the treatment plant a s specified in the contract , upon
-payment of Forbes & Brett for the amount of �+p 1, 500.00 as of
Jan. 8th. 1945. and a signed release from Forbes & Brett on the
payment thereof.
Resolution No. 335 Instructing the City Attorney, upon the re-
lease from Forbes & Brett of the contract of Jan. $, 1945, and
all other contracts or connections, with a sewage treatment
plant for the city of kent , to notify the State Pollution
Control Commission of the existence of a contract with Carey
and Krammer for the redesign of a treatment plant for the City.
The Boy Scouts of Troop 450 was at the meeting, and took an
active part in the proceedings of the meeting.
Mr. Will Andre owner of the Vale Theatre on ",lest T,Teeker Street
in Kent , presented his views in regard to the recending of the
Admission Tax Ordinance, he thought it was very unfair to his
business.No action was taken by the council at this time but
would take it under further advisment.
By motion passed the clerk was instructed to write a lettter
to the Pacific Tel. Co. in regard to the moving of a pole out j
of the street rig
htai,ry on Kenwood Ave.
Motion passed to instruct the clerk to write a letter to the
Northwest Metal hroduets and thank them for the flagpole they
donated to the Park Board for the Park grounds at North Central.
Letter read from Richfield Oil Corp. in regard to the gvdding
the Parking strip at Titus & Central Ave. and blacktoping same.
Motion passed to instruct the engineer to proceed with the work
as their letter requested, and all work they did was to be under
-the supervision of the Engineer.
Motion passed to grant permission to the Fire Dept .to take
a Census of the City, and also make a fire inspection of all
resdents, as prescribed by the Chief of the Department.
Matter of changing the building code to the National Standard
Code, was presented by the Engineer, and the building and fire
committees were to work it out with the engineer for present-
ation at the next meeting.
Tom Cohen was present at the meeting and requested the openn-
i.ng of Spring- Street , this being a dedicated streei,� he was
told to proceed.
