Regular meeting of the City Council present P2ayor Mooney,
Councilmen Blessing, Curran, Pozzi, Randall , Schultz, Shaffer,
Thornton;
T1inutes read and approved of the last regular meeting;
Report of Officers read and filed, Police report ;
Bids were read for the repair of the city building , now
leased by Blue Banner Foods, four bids were received McIntyre
Construction Cog . $3 , 450. 50, Wayne Construction Co, :0 ,914.00.
E.L.Maddox & Rex Nelson, $4101.55 , Workman Bros. Construction
Company, "P3 ,949.72. Motion passed to award the bid to the low-
est bidder McIntyre Construction Co for the amount of $3 , 450.50.
Resoultion No. 332 as presented by the Treatment Plant Engineers
Carey �w Kramer for the council to adopt plan III, and for the
City Attorney and special counsel be authorized and directed
to consult with Carey & Krammer with a vied to presenting for
action by this body, a proposed contract for consederation and
possible execution at the next regular meeting. Tlotion passed to
adopt resoultion as read.
Letter read from the Pollution Control Commission stating that
they would help the council with our industries problem, in
regard to the Treatment Plant , and I•lr. E.F.Eldridge Director
woyld like to be at the meeting in person.
Letter read from the Chamber of Commerce in regard to securing
a peke of property at the intersection of Shinn Street and
First Ave. North to straighten ,out the two streets for .a cost
of `,001850.00. Motion passed to have the Street and Finance
committees investigate same.
Ordinance No. 857 passed by motion to set speed limits up to
35 miles an hour on certain streets in the City. with
Councilman Pozzi brought up the subject of doing a way
the admmission Tax on our local theater, by the request of the
owner Mr. 14ill Andre , after some discussion the clerk was
instructed to write a letter. to T-1r. Andre , stating at this
time the council could not see clear to give this consession.
Mayor brought up the matter of a C .D. Training school. at
the St. ilarys College in California, and recommended that Mrs.
Bovell be sent to this school for one week at, a cost of "P140.00.
that it would be a great benefit to the City. 1,1otion passed to
send Mrs. .Bovell to the weeks training course.
