Regular meeting of the City Council present Mayor Mooney, Councilmen Blessing, Curran, Pozzi, Randall, Schultz, Shaffer, Thornton; Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting, Atcept the worth palmstery, which should be phrenology; Report of Officers read- and filed, Treasurers, Budget ,Clerkts and annual Police report ; Motion was passed to accept the very fine report of the Chief of Police for the year of 1952. Bids were opened on Fuel oil, Stove oil , Gasoline and Diesel, Low bids were awarded to City transfer Fuel Oil, Sipes Transfer Stove & Diesel, • gasoline was awarded to the Shell Oil Co. Bids were opened and read on copper Tubing, the bid was awarded to Western Utilities Supply Co of- Seattle , Wash. for 2000 ft. of Chase Type K, Copper Tubing for the amount of $670.00 plu& sales tax F.O.B.Kent. Councilman Curran reported to the Council that the N.P. Ry. had made a mistake in their agreement on Mahe sale of the property in regard to water rights for minting, so Mr. Curran advised the council that there is no action being taken on this program. Mr. Krammer, Mr. Brett and Mr. Livinston from Carey Krammer and Associates our Engineers for the Treatment Plant was present and presented partial plants for the Plant , but advised the council that they were not completed and they advised againest any council action as for acceptance at- this time, but they thought that they could have them completed in about 30 days. Petition received from a group of people South and East of the city limits of Dent for annexation) petition presented and by motion passed Councilman Curran and the City Attorney was instructed .to draw affidavits of- ownership for the owners to sign in the area described by blue- print to be annexed. Letter received from the Kent Credit Bureau in regard to securing a better credit rating from the P.S.P.&.L.Co office , this by motion reffered to the Light Committee for action. Letter read from the Association of Washington Cities in regard to a man that has done ordinance work for Cities, a Mr. Sykes. Motion passed to have Councilman check with Renton when they had teir ordinances brought up to date. " Currants. Mayor received resignation from Mr.Norman Anderson, who is now living outside the City , from the Civil Service Commission. Mayor appiated Mr. Don Bell Jr. in Mr. Andersons place and by - Motion approved by the council. Building Committee to look into a better set up for our council room tables. Letter received from the N.P.1ty. Co stating that repairs would start on the rough crossings, as the council requested.
