Coos hnob Hill Addn. to Kent , and hearing was held for anyone to object , Tir. Clark objected to the vacation for his client l:Irs. Plorris that owned lot 2 just' North of .the part of the street that was petitioned to be vac$ted, he claimed that it would landlock her property zo and it was not for the good of the city to vacate this portion $WO m om of Clark Street. After some disscussion on the vacation, a . motion was passed to pass the ordinance , a roll call vote was ;� taken the yeas were Blessing, Shaffer, and Thornton, . neys NA were Curran, Randall, and schultz, the I'ayor cast the decid- o ing vote with a yea. Ordinance Ido. 851P was passed to vacate the said street. After ordinance passed to vacate street T,Ir. Clark attorney for T-Irs. Ruth Tiorris stated that he would see us in court. ilotion was passed to instruct the Mayor and Clerk to sign a Quitf Claim Deed for Lots 12 & 13 Block LM O.P.of Kent , to a Mr. James Corkins, now owner of the property for a clearence of the title. 0 The National Bank of �1ashington request` permission to place blacktop on the depressions in their sidewalk on 1,,Ieeker St. jThe engineer t�ras instructed to look into the matter, and also the condition of the building, and also the Merrifield Apt. building at First Ave. and Gowe Street. Motion for clerk t_o write a letter to the N.P.Ry. Co. in regard to the time of repairing the crossings at Smith 8-1 James Streets, as their letter had stated. The street crew was authorized to move the gate at the ' dump and pick up the garbage that some one had dumped at the gate. Petition received from people on the IIamilton Rd. requesting of the council for better and more water supply, by motion petition eras placed on file. Estimate on new water mains on Knob Hill if an annexation was completed, by the Engineer & the 'rJater Supt . was set at 20,000.00.
