Kent Washington July 7, 1952
Regular meeting of the City Council present , Mayor Mooney,
Councilmen Blessing, Curran, Pozzi, Randall, Schultz, Shaffer;
Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting;
Report of officers read and filed: ;
Councilman Curran made a report to the council of the findings
from the meeting with the Seattle Supt. of water works, in re-
gard to hooking in with the new main that Seattle is running
a cross the Valley near Orillia, . the rate of charge would be
greater, and the pressure at the take off point wQnkdl be to
great without the use of reducing valves.
Meeting will be called with the frozen food plants and the
cannerys in "regard to water consumption and the sewage disposal
plant , and the clerk to notify same of a meeting July 15th. at
8 Otclock P.M. .
Motion was passed to have the Health Officer notify Mr. Baines
and Fir. PvIcClure to connect to the sewer.
Bids were opened and read for the placement of light poles
at Meeker Street and the railroad crossing of the N.P.One bid
was received from Ramstead Electric Co of Kent , for the amount
of $$710.08 encluding tax, by motion passed the bid was .awarded
to Ramstead Electric , providing that the poles that were tobe
removed would be not "damaged so that they could be used at
some other place if needed.
Clerk was instructed to write the P. S.P.B .L.CO instructing
them to install the two luminares at the N.P.Tracks at Gowe
Street on the now existing wood poles.
Letter read from the Chamber of Commerce in regard to
planning was referred to the local planning Commission.
Mayor appointed Mrs. Kock for a second term on the Library
Board and stated that she had done a mighty fine job, and this
appointment was approved by the council.
