Regular meeting of the City Council present Mayor Mooney,
Counculmen Blessing, Curran, Pozzi, Randall, Schultz, Shaffer
Thornton;
Minutes read of the last previous meeting and approved;
Officers reports read and filed, Treasurers, Clerks, and
Budget;
Bids were opened and read for a street-sweeper, only one
bid appeared, Notion passed to accept the bid for one used
street sweeper from the Feenaughty Machinery Co of Seattle
for the amount of $1, 802.50 including State Sales Tax.
Motion passed to grant the request of i,�r. Esterbrook, for
the extension of the sewer north of Shinn St. in the alley
West of First Ave. North, under the supervision of the City
Engineer.
Motion passed to purchase a cpmpressor for the sewage lift
station at a cost not to exceed p 200.00.
Motion passed to instruct the Health Officer to notify Mr. .
Iver Iverson at 436 Hazel Ave. to hook up with the sewer, on
account of a faulty septic tank.'
Motion passed to instruct Councilman Curran and Mr. Rod to
investigate the feasibility of connecting to the new main that
the City of Seattle is going to run across the valley in the
location of Orillia, for additional water in the peak season. .
Letter read from the N.P. Ry Co in regard to the sale of their
property with the rights to all mineral and etc. Motion passed
to have the water committee confer with the city attorney in
regard to such a sale of this nature with the restrictions as
set forth in the letter.
Motion passed to call for bids on the installation of four
Mercury Vapor lights, two on Meeker St. and two on Gowe St at
the N.P.Ry. crossing.
Three residents on James Street requested of the council to
install four-way stop signs on James Street to slow down the
traffic. Motion passed to have the Police committee to make a
study of the situation and report back at the next regular me
meeting.
Letter read from Mr. Eckland stating that he had a building
that could be made into a Hotel and requested of the council
for aid in doing so. The council stated that they would help
in any way that was in their power to do so.
Request of the Mayor for the chairman of the police committee
to read Milwaukee Franchise ordinance and make a report.
Letter read from the Milwaukke R.R.Co. stating that they
were going to proceed with the signal system that the council
had requested to make the crossing safer at West Meeker.
�, Motion passed to instruct the' Engineer to proceed with the
preliminary work on the sewer petitions, for creating of LID.
