Regular meeting of the City Council present Mayor Mooney,
Councilmen Blessing, Pozzi, Randall, Schultz, Shaffer, and
Thornton; .
Minutes read and approved of tle last regular meeting;
Police report read and filed;
Councilman Randall reported to the council a great need
for a street sweeper, and a Mr. Feroe was present from the
Feenaughty Machinery Co, and stated that they had a used
one for sale , and would like to deminstrate it. for the.
council, the cost of this machine would be 'P'1700.00.
Motion was passed to instruct the Kent Cement Block Co
to replace the concrete in the street at 5th. ave So, for
the amount of S- 225.00 or less.
Motion was passed to instruct the clerk to write a letter
to the King County Health Dept. requesting them to bait the
dump for rats.
Letter read from the P.S.P.&&.L.CO requesting a license to
run service wires across our property at Summit Ave. To serve
Coens houses to be constructed in the future. Motion passed
to grant a license for the Power Co to construct a line across
our property, with the approval of the city attorney as to
form and conditions, and also a letter from Mr. Coen attached.
Hearing held on the vacation of an alley in the O.P.of Kent
no one objected the hearing was closed and ordinance �r 849
read and passed the vote of the council.
Motion passed to instruct the clerk to call for bids on a
three section mower to be used on the Park grounds on North
Central Ave. , when specifications were presented.
Park Board in formed the council that they might sponsor
a carnival on the Park grounds in the next few weeks.
Rod gave a very interesting report on the Water Works
Convention that he attended in Spokane last week.
