Regular meeting of the City Council present , Mayor looney,
Councilmen Adams, Blessing, Pozzi, Schultz, Shaffer, Thornton;
Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting,
except, correction Police to make a survey of all streets that
have stop signs that are not authorized by ordinance.
Report of officers read and approved, Police report, Treas,
Budget & Clerks .
Councilman Thornton reported that he would get a survey
from the Kent Roofing Co, on the taring of the cracks in
the paved streets.
Motion past to instruct the Clerk to smite a letter to the
Drainage Ditch Commissioners requesting them to have Mill Creek
deepened, so as the drainage would be more effective in the
winter on Central Ave.
Motion passed by the Council to authorize State Engineers
to run water from drain on Smith Street onto City property
if they assume responsibility for health harzards and etc.
Motion passed to instruct Councilman Shaffer to draft a
letter to the State Highway in regard to the improvements on
Smith Hill Highway.
Claim of Preston, Thorgrimson & Horowitz for special legal
services for municipal electric power systems, was presented
to the council, and by motion passed was rejected, and the
clerk was instructed to return bill and inform the Company
that the council felt that it was not obligated to pay same.
14otion passed to purchase hand machine for striping streets,
for the amount of 98. 50 plus tax.
Motion passed to purchase enough steel pipe for extension
of' water main on Alvord Ave. south of James Street.
Preliminary hearing was set for Sept. 13th. on the budget.
