Kent Washington May 21 , 1951
Regular meeting of the City Council present Ilayor Mooney,
Councilmen Armstrong, Pozzi, Randall, Seeman, Thornton.
Minutes read of the last regular meeting and approved:
Report of officers read and filed, Bidget Clerk' s & Treasurers;
Councilman Seemaa reported that a dog catcher would start
work this week, .
Councilman Thornton reported on the question on the south 3rd.
Ave. drainage , and reported that it was not a city prodjedy, and
the people interested should raise the mooney and do the job,
Motion passed to instruct the clerk to write a letter to the
signers of this petition and inform them of the action of the
council.
Irlotion was passed to instruct the clerk to write a letter to
Mr. Thorgrimson and denie the portion of the bill that was
presented to the City of Kent for fees to present bill to
legislayure on power bill for cities to do buisness in the
rural area.
Written reguest from Curry Cab Cc for extension of, or re-
newal of taxie parking zone on East Meeker. 'Motion passed to
place in the Fire & Police Committee for recommendation at the
next regular meeting.
Bids were opened and read for the leting of construction of
unfinished part of LID 229 Sewers, three bids were received
as follows,lalley Construction C6 of Seattle $26,631.34;
R.L.Moss & Co of Zenith, 428,051.70; Pat Barkley Gladstone Ore.
$36,427.00; Motion for recess for consideration of bids, for
15 minutes, reconvened and motion passed to place in the hands
of various members and Engineer 2: City Attorney, and some action
taken the first meeting in June.
Ordinance f 838 passed the unanimous vote of the council
present. & Mrs
Easement- for road purposes granted by the council to Mr.
Lloyd Coen, and for the Mayor and Clerk to sign same, by motion
passed.
Motion passed to purchase loo gals. of traffic paint , and 12
dead end street signs.
Motion passed to instruct the clerk to purchase office desk
chair and one typewriter to be used in the clerkfs office.
