Kent Washington April 2, 1951
Regular meeting of the City Council present , Nayor T'Iooney,
Councilmen Armstrong, Bell, Randall, Seeman, Thornton;
T-4inutes read and approved of the last regular meeting;
Report of officers read and filed, police report ;
Bids opened and read for the laying of water pipe, bids were
received from the following firms, Joe Coluccio of Seattle,
$46,665.00; Angelo Scarsello of Seattle , $62,770.00; Superior
Construction Co of Seattle , ti36,106.00; Salem Sand Gravel Co
of Salem Oregon, y51289.00; State Construction Co, $37, 535.00;
Valley Construction Co of Seattle , ';P'35,480.00; Burrows & Milone
Tacoma, Wash. $39, 441. 50; Lario Libri Seattle , I'1ash.1p45, 655.00;
T,Teeting was recessed for discussion of the bids,and a motion was
passed to award the low bid to Valley Construction Co of Seattle
for the amount of 935,480.00 plus 3 State Sales Tax.
Letter read from the State Highway Engineers office in regard
to the dangerous curve on the East Highway stating that they are
making the survey of the curve and will give us a report of their
findings.
Councilman Randall brought to the attention of the council , the
request that Mr. Coen has on file with the city for an easment
through the city property at the North East Hill reservoir, for
a roadway into his property. Water committee to look the situat-
ion over and report at the next regular meeting.
Motion was passed to have the engineer prepare specs. for the
continuation of LID 229 sewer job, making it ready for the call
for bids to complete the job, and instruct the City Attorney to
notify the bomding Company of the councils action.
Motion passed to have the sanitation committee paint the
garbage disposal cans on North Central Ave.
T,iotion passed to adopt resolution for the investment of water
funds in U. S. 90day bills, in the amount of $30,000.00.
