Regular meeting of the City Council present , Mayor Mooney
Councilmen Armstrong, Bell, Pozzi, Randall , Seeman, Shaffer,,
Thornton.
Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting;
Report of officers read and filed, Budget , Treasurers 8c
Clerk' s Report.
Motion passed to instruct the clerk to write a letter to
the commissioners of Drainage District # 1 in regard to giv-
ing some relief on the drainage situation in the location of
Naden Ave.
Motion passed to instruct the City Attorney in the event no
answer one received, or if an answer be in the negative, from
the bonding Company on the L.I.D 229 matter, prior to the next
council meeting, the City Attorney and Hyland, Elvridge and
Alvord, associate council in the matter, be directed to proceed
with the next step provided in the contract , Section 31.
Bids were opened and read for the awarding of contracts for
the purchase of water pipe , fittings valves 8, hydrants, Bids
were received from the following firms; H.D.Fowler & Co of
Seattle, Pacific Water Works Supply Co, E.N.Hallgren Co,
John Mansville Co, Hugh G. Purcell Co, and Pacific States Pipe
Co. of Portland Ore. Bids were awarded to, Pacific Water Wrks,
Supply Co. for the Cast Iron Pipe ll 300.ft of 4" & 6" the
amount of $18611.07, 35 Hydrants at 4721. 52, and 42 Tees at
$782.85. E.N.Hallggren Co was awarded the 21 Gate Valves at the
amount of $ 817.46• , and Hugh G. Purcell Co was awarded the
Copper Tubing for 6793.46.
Chas Meanio was before the council with a request to have
South Second Ave. drained to releave the water that stands
on his place.
Motion passed to increase all hourly employees who has not
received the 8% increase for the retirement plan.
