HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Meeting - Council - Regular Minutes - 02/05/1951 256 Kent 1'iashington February 5 , 1951 Regular meeting of the City Council present , I4ayor Mooney, Councilmen Armstrong, Pozzi, Randell, Seeman, Shaffer, Thornton; Iiinutes read and approved of the last regular meeting; Report of officers read and filed: ; Bids were opened and read for the construction of two offices on the second floor of the City Hall, two bids were received one from -ficlntyre Construction, and one from Straub Construction McInt re Construction was low bid at $ 1760.40 and Straub bid- ding U197.35 Motion passed to grant the bid to IicIntyre Con- struction Co. � Motion passed to instruct H.P.Pratt & Co to give the State Pollution Board all information they requested on the finanical standing of the City, but the council was not in favor of proceed- ing with the Treatment Plant at this time if they had to hook the water system with it and plunge it into far greater debt. Motion was passed to have the under pinning fixed at the City owned building that is being leased by Blue Banner Poods. , to the amount of $490.00. Motion passed to table tobacco Ordinance. Motion passed to purchase $84.00 woth of barricades for water and Street purposes. Motion passed to have a housing for the dog pound constructed at a cost of $200.00 or less. Motion passed to have the Mayor send telegrams to the President and Congress in regard to the railroad condition. Motion passed to have resolution from the council sent to house of representives at Olympia, in regard to the laws effecting the Cityies in the power business. Motion passed for clerk & Shaffer to draw up resolution in regard to 4-H legislation. Mayor proclaimed week starting with the 5th. of February to be Boy Scout Week.
