Kent Washington December 18, 1950
Regular meeting of the City Council present , Mayor pro-tem Thornton,
Councilmen,, Armstrong, Randall, Seeman, ;
Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting;
Report of officers read and placed on file , Budget Treasurers, and Clerk:
Finance committee reported on tther finding on which other cities
paid their city attornys, and recommended that the attorney s
salary starting June 1951 shall be $100.00 per month. Motion
passed to acept the recommendation of the finance committee.
Ordinance_ No. 833 passed the vote of the council in regard to
setting fees for connecting to the sewer system out side of the
city limits.
Ordinance No. 834 passed the vote of the council providing for
the pension and retirement of volunteer firemen.
Ordinance, No. 835 passed the vote of the council providing for
pension system for all city employees and police department, and
for such elective officials that so wish.
Ordinance. No. 836 passed by the council fixing the salary of
the city clerk at $324.00 per month.
Ordinance. No.837 passed the council fixing the city attorney' s
salary at $�_00.00 per month starting the first of June 1951-
An ordinance was submitted in regard to the control of cigarette
vending machines, and tabacco sales with a license attached, was
laid over tj.11 next meeting for further study.
Motion passed to instruct the clerk to write a letter to the
State Highway Patrol, and engineering Dept. in regard to a curve
on the East Highway just north of the City Limits, where several
accidents have occured, bringing to their attention that there shoull
be some sort of traffic control place at this point.
Motion passed to have the Finance Committee, Water Committee and
City Attorney investigate the water rights on rock creek for some
sort of improvement, and also the purchase feasibility of a piece
of ground now owned by the N.P. Railroad Co.
