Minutes read and approved of the last regular and recessed meeting Report of officers read and filed , Police report; Letter read from the Hamilton Well Water Co,Inc,.stating that their directors would expect an adjustment if our well would effect the flow of water in their well. Letter read from Mr. Geo Shearer State Highway Engineer staing that they will correct the chuchholes in Meeker St. as soon as they purchase a machine to take care of such conditions in the blactop as we have on Meeker St. Resolution No. 317 read and adopted by the council in re- gard to the Mayor making application to the Bonneville Power administration for Federal power supply for the City of Kent. Motion passed for the engineer to see if it would be feasible to lessen the grade or depth of the sewer pipes in Dist. 229 to lesson the hard ships on the contractor, and to report at the next meeting. Bids were openhed and read for the purchase of two trucks for the water dept.Three bids were received, and by motion the low bid of C &;'7 Auto Sales was awarded for 01325.00 for i ton pickup and $1418.00 for 3/4 ton pickup, and 1050.00 for the two old trucks.Kent Motors bid iton pickup $1398.75 less $800.00 for used pickup, and $1533.00 for 3/4 ton pickup and $200.00 for old trmck. Valley Grrage $1378.15 for 2 ton pickup, and $1488.40 for 3/4 ton pickup with no trade in allowence for old equipment. Motion passed to permit Safeway new building to have 24ft. driveways instead of 16 ft. and number as called for on their blueprints. Motion to instruct City Attorney to draw ordinances for pension plans for City Wide employees and fireman. Motion passed to recess meeting until Thursday Nov. 9, at $O'clock P.M. for action on sewer work. Motion was passed to instruct the City Attorney to write the contractor a letter, and to so state that the council expected the Roberts & Co Inc. to continue work according to the contract, and if other wise the council would deal with the Bonding Company.
