HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Meeting - Council - Minutes - 06/19/1950 Kent Washington June 19, 1950 Regular meeting of the City Council present, Mayor Mooney Councilmen, Armstrong, Bell, Pozzi, Randall, Shaffer, Thornton; Minutes read of the last regular meeting and approved accept. , creating a sewer district that is corrected to read, the council made a motion and passed to instruct the City Attorney to draw ordinance for the extension of our sewer system, if any one so desires to hook up to the present system at our city limits, if a sewer be theio, . Report of officers read and filed, Clerkts Treasurers and Budget; Letter read from the American Legion requesting the flag pole in the Park be fixed so that the flag may be displayed on days so desired. Motion. passed to place on file and instruct the clerk to write a letter to the Americ an explaining action taken on same. Bids were opened and read on the drilling of a well for water on the East Hill near the North East Hill reservoir site, to obtain more water supply for the summer months. Five bids were received the council recessed for 10 minutes to look over the bids, and re- convined, with a. motion for the water committee to study the bids and come in with a recommendation at the next regular meeting. Motion passed to have the finance committee get intouch with H.P.Pratt & Co and have them submitt a contract for 'the work re- quired on the financing of the sewer disposal plant. Motion passed to call for bids on the proposed sewer prodject and if let the contractor to be paid by warrents at 5%, and to be redeemed by the sale of .bonds. Motion passed to have the police committee investigate the mode of payment for the catching and feeding of dogs, as recommended by the last state auditor.
