Regular meeting of the City Council present , Mayor Mooney
Councilmen, Armstrong, Bell, Pozzi, Randall, Seeman, Shaffer,
Thornton;
Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting;
Report of officers read and filed, Police Report ;
Police committee recommended that extended service be placed on
City- phones, 178 & 78, Motion passed to place extended service on
phones 178 and 78. Police phone and Clerk' s Phone.
Motion passed to have the over flow drain from the Scenic Hill
reservoir cleaned out and repaired.
Motion was passed to have 14r. Robinson draw up specifications
for the drilling of a test well at the site of the north east
hill reservoir, and the clerk instructed to call for bids on the
same,
Mayor requested of the finance committee and the Health committee
to contact more bonding firms in working out financial plans for
the treatment plant , to be under construction by June , and for the
City Attorney to advise the council in regard to the Carey and Asso
ciates contract on the treatment plant .
Letter read from Mr. Coen in regard to requesting an easment for
road through the North East Hill Reservoir land, Motion passed to
place in hands of water committee for investigation.
Letter read from the Park Board advising the council of the resign-
ation of Adolph Kovash as Park caretaker and the placment of Mr.
Holman.
Motion was passed to have Mr. Rod water Supt . and Mr. Evenson
attend the Water Works Convention held in Tacoma this month.
Motion passed to instruct the Clerk to write a letter to the
Public Utility Commission in Olympia, opposing the raise of rates.
Motion passed to permit the Fire Dept . to expend up too 500.00
on improving one of their fire trucks.
Mr. Halloway living on So. 3rd. Ave . complained to the Council on
the cutting of his tree in the parking stripp by Mr. Hurt while
moving a house along the street .Motion passed to have the attorney
advise the council as to the proceedure in the damage to Mr.
Halloway.
Motion passed to have the Clerk write a letter to Mr. Anderson
in regard to the drainage condition on North Washington Street , by
the Triangle Inn.
