Regular meeting of the City Council present ,' Mayor Mooney
Councilmen Armstrong, Pozzi , Randall, Seeman, Shaffer, Thornton;
Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting;
Peort• of Officers read and filed; Budget Treasurer' s and Clerks;
Councilman reported that the tree in the street in North Park
was cut down.
Councilman Randall reported on the progress that Mr. Robertson
the water geologist was making in regard to the findings on a
well site .
Councilman Pozzi reported on the insurance progress and by
motion that the council have the Mayor sign the contract with
Bell Insurance Co for the handling of the Cities insurance
Motion passed the vote of the council.
Petition received and read in regard to the LID sewer district
thirty six signers on the petition requested of the council to
delay the building of the sewer at this time on account of the
high cost. Motion passed to accept the petition and place on file.
Emergency ordinance read, and hearing held and no objections
by motion passed the unanimous vote of the council, to expend and
set up $6500.00 for park purposes.
Motion passed to have Councilman Thornton serve on the Firemens
Relief & Compensation board.
Mayor brought to the attention of the council the meeting of
Valley Citites to be held at Renton, to discuss the problem of
Power & •Light .
Councilman Thornton was requested to look into the question
of drainage in an alley in McMillian Addn.
Committee was present at the Council meeting from the south
part of the City in regard to the poor drainage, and reoommended
that something be done about the condition.
Motion was passed to instruct the Clerk to write a letter to !
the Drainage Ditch Commissioners in regard to the poor upkeep
of the drainage ditch. Amendment to this motion requesting a
reply.
Motion passed to reject, the one bid on the police car.
Motion passed -to call for bids for a new police car.
Motion passed for a recess of the council for 10 minutes.
Council reconvened and had the hearing on the Sewer question.
Motion was passed to extend the hearing on the sewer district
proposed, until the second meeting in April , and in the mean-
time all people interested contact Mr. Drake the City Engineer
and make suggestions on the proposed issue.
Don Bell Jr. was nominated and elected by the council to
fill the vacancy of Mr. VanBevers. and the Mayor placed him
as chairman of the light committee.
Motion passed for the use of the council chambers to be made
available to councilmen for city buisness other than regular
councilmeetings.
Councilman Armstrong reported that he had a meeting with the
school district authorities in regard to a sewer line from the
proposed new school site on east h&ll .
