Regular meeting of the City Council present, Mayor Mooney
Councilmen Armstrong Pozzi, Randall, Seeman, Shaffer, Thornton.
Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting;
Report of Officers read and filed, Clerk' s Report , Treasurers ^
Budget , and Library;
Motion passed to adopt a resolution to retain the name of
Eagle Gorge Dam if the dam is contructed on Green River, and
for the Mayor t appoint two delegates to attend the Meeting
in Seattle on Flood Control, Feb. 24, 1950. Mayor appointed
Councilmen Shaffer & Pozzi as delegates to the meeting.
iMotion passed to instruct the clerk to write a letter to
the Pollution Control Commission in regard to the progress
being made on the financ&ng of the Treatment Plant.
Motion Iras passed to instruct the City Attorney to draft a
resolution for the transfer of monies from the current expense
to the park fund for the purchase of apP66 ee of ground for
recreation purposes, and an emer§ency ordinance to expend
the -sum of money.
Motion for finance committee to place option on property
to be purchased for park and recreation purposes.
Motion passed to instruct the clerk to call for bids for
a new police car.
Delegation from the O'brien district, requesting to hook
in on She Kent water system.
Motion was passed to have the water committee investigate
the drilling of a well on the old Snyder system spring site.
Mayor appointed Councilman Randall as chairman on the
water committee to fill vacancy of VanBevers.
City Attorney Mr. Thatcher gave a talk on world federation
and requested of the Council, for their signatures on
initiative # 174, and ask the council if they would let other
citizens know of this important issuo.
Motion passed to adopt initiative # 174, and to• urge people
to suppott same.
