Regular meeting of the City Council present Mayor Mooney,
Councilmen Armstrong, Pozzi , Randall, Seeman, Shaffer, Thornton.
Minutes read of the last regular meeting and approved;
Report of Officers read and filed, police report ;
Communications read from Mr. & Mrs. Staples and Bobby express-
ing their appreciation for making their trip to the Rose Bowl
a wonderful one.
Resignation from Councilmen R.L.VanBevers read and accepted
on account of leaving the City to accept and. other position
at Kalama.
Communications from the State Health Dept. the Pollution Control
Commission, and the N.P.Ry. Co in regard to the installation of
a sewer in the . City.. Motion to place all communications on file
Resolution No. 309 read setting a hearing date for the in-
tention of improving certain sections of the City with sewers,
hearing to be at 8 O' clock P.M. March 6th. at the City Hall.
Motion passed to instruct the Sewer Committee and Finance
committee to investigate the financing; of the Seweage Treat-
ment plant, as recommended by the State Volution Committee.
Motion passed to authorize the Mayor and Clerk to issue bonds
against L.I.D. #228 by adopting ordinance # 824.
Motion passed to accept the amount of $475.00 presented by
McIntyre Construction Cc to construct and paint , a skirting
around the Blue Banner Food Co' s building.
Bids were opened and read from three biders for the purchase
of a two ton truck for the street department . Valley Garage
14145.46, Kent Motors $3221. 50, Freese Motors $ 3027.22 plus
126.00 for two speed axle. Motion passed to award the bid to
Freese Motors.
Mayor Mooney presented Bobby Staples a certificate making
him the Duke of Kent, for outstanding fetes.
Motion passed to have the attorney draw contracts for the
purchase of the Ellis And Carlbron property for a recreation
site.
