Regular meeting of the City Council present Mayor Mooney,
Councilmen Armstrong, Pozzi, Seeman, Thornton, VanBevers.
Minutes of last regular meeting read and approved;
Report of officers read and approved and placed on file ;
Budget Treasurers and Clerk' s.
Councilman reported on the condition of Meeker Street
and Motion passed to instruct the clerk to write a letter
to the district office of engineers at 6th. and Spokane St
Seattle , and draw to the Highway Dept the work required on
said street .
Mr. Bell of Donald Bell Insurance Co made a report on the
insurance of: the city on its buildings and reccommended that
there be a survey made of the assets , and new policies
made out . Motion was passed to have the finance committee
meet with the agency and have the insurance brought up to '
date.
Letter read to the council from Mr. Sells the Pianager of
the Kent Liquor Store , thanking the police dept. for the
service rendered him during the heavy trade at christmas
time. Motin to place letter on file.
Treasurer' s certification as to the amount of money collect-
ed during the 30 day period, and the balance due on LID 228
collected $6257.21 uncollected and to be bonded for
$19568.08. Motion passed to have the City Attorney draw
ordinance for bond issue.
Resolution read and by motion passed to have the treasurer
invest $100,000.00 from the water fund in U. S.Government bills
for a period of ninty days.
Motion was passed to have a chimney constructed in the water
building, so a stove could be installed to keep the equipment
and plumbing from freezing.
Motion passed to instruct the clerk to call for bids for a.
two ton truck for the Street Dept .
Mayor called for a meeting with the Park Board, Legion, and
Cornocoupia Committee to discuss plans for recreation grounds
and buildings.
Motion was passed to give a vote of thanks to the Legion
for their interest in the recreation proposal.
