HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity Council Meeting - Council - Minutes - 01/03/1950 Kent Washington January 3 , 1940 Regular meeting of the City Council present , Mayor Mooney, Councilmem, Poxgi Randall, Seeman, Thornton, Vanbevers. Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting; Report of officers read and filed, police; Councilman Pozzi reported that the Blue Banner Food building needed a new skitting, to keep the pipes from freem-ng up, Motion passed to have the building committee get an estimate on the cost of the improvment. A letter was read from the Governor of Washington, stating that he had affixed his signature to the Resolution of the council relative to decontrol of rent prices, and forwarded same to Mr. Tighe E. Woods, Housing Expediter for his attention. Motion was passed to place letter on file. Councilman VanBevers reported on the site for recreation and park purposes, that owned by Mr. Ellis & Carlbloom located on North Central, Mr. Ellis agreed to sell his portion for a sum of $5000.00, and Mr. Carlbloom agreed to sell for $6000.00 both p&&ces contain about 9 acres more or less, and Mr. Ellis to retain a piece 60ft. on the front by 100 ft. deep, where no sits a barn. Motion passed to approve this site for recreational purposes subject to purchase. , Motion passed to purchase some $" the for south central at Scenic Way, and one catch basin. Motion passed to recess meeting until next Friday evening at 7: O'clock P.M. for further disscussion on the Park property.
