Regular meeting of the City Council present, Mayor Nooneyi
Councilmen, Armstrong, Pazzi, Randall , Seeman, Shaffer,
VanBevers;
Minutes read and approved of t#e last regular meeting;
Report of Officers read and filed, Budget , ,Treasurer, and
Clerk' s .Report ;
Bids were opened and read from contractors biding on a
water job, for the renewing of water pipe , for labor, and
the city furnishing the material, the low bid was accepted
and awaai.dd to Meade Sand & Gravel Co of Auburn, Washington,
for the sum of $17,286.10. Fred Wagar & Sons,..,436296.33 , West
Coast Hyt. & Plgb. Co, $ 55375. 50, John Patricelli, $250$$.30

Engineer recommended that the contract by Mr. Moss be accepted
on the water main job on the West Highway, Motion passed 'to
accept the recommendation of the engineer.
Motion was passed for the .finance committee to make a complete
study of all insurance policies, and get them all under one
agent, and be subdivided too the other agents that have an
office of insurance buisness in the city.
Resolution from the commissioners of Fire District No. 37,
was read and by motion placed on file.
Resolution was read and by motion place on file for the Mayor
to be present on the day Bob Staples and his mother left for
the Rose Bowl game, and extend the best wishes and congratulations
of the City to and honored son.
Motion was passed to adopt a resolution for a hearing date on
the vacation of certain streets and alleys in the city, and the
clerk to post notices according to law, hearing date Dec. 19th.
Petition received from 43 buisness places that rent , request-
ing the council to hold a hearing for the purpose to determine
rent contral in the limits of the dity of Kent , - Hearing date set
for December 19, at $'Oclock P.M. City Hall.
Motion to instruct the attorney to give owner of property in
Section 35, a release on an easment for an old pipe line that
the City has not use since 1930.
Motion was passed -to instruct the clerk to call for bids for
water pipe, fittings valves and hydrants.
Motion was passed to purchase radio equipment for the fire
department to and amount of $450.00.
Motion was passed for the clerk to write a letter to the High-
way Dept in regard for the maintenance of the traffic lights in
the City.
Motion was passed. for Vanbevers, Shaffer and Randall to act as
a committee to arrange for three appraisers for a pi6ce of land
for Park Purposes.
