Regular meeting of the City Council present , Mayor Mooney,
Councilmen Armstrong, Pozzi, Randall, Seeman, Shaffer,Thornton,
VanBevers;;

Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting;
Report of Officers read and filed; Treasurer' s , Clerk' s and
Budget ;
Counculman Thornton reported that the N.P.Ry. Co. was repairing
the spur track crossing at First Ave. North, with Blacktop.
'Councilman Armstrong reported that the North Park LID sewer
job would be completed about the first of the month.
Petition from Mr. Fred Leber requesting of the Council to
vacate certain parts of streets in Knob Hill Addn. to Kent,
he stated that he was the owner on both sides of same, and no
further need was his reason. Motion was passed for the Engineer
and the street committee tolook into the matter.
Petition received from a group of people with $06 signers
asking the council to repeal an ordinance for the installation
and regulating the use of parking meters.Motion passed to place
the petitions on file with consideration.
Ordinance # $14 read and passed the unanimous vote of the
council, for the fixing of salaries for the Council.
Ordinance # 815 read and passed the unanimpus- vote of the
council for the creating of a Cumulative Fund for the purchase
of fire trucks and equipment.
Mayor reported that County Commissioner Mr. Sears met with
the interested people of this community in regard to the clos-
ing of the T. Bridges They are asking the commissioer to have
the bridge reopened.

the power to close such a bridge, after it has served the
people of this community for such a long period.
Bid was received from the Rockwell Meter Co for a 6" water
meter at a cost of $936.00 no other bids were received. Motion
was passed to have the water committee investigate the bid, and
an amendmett added to give the water committee power to act.
Motion was made to repeal the parking meter ordinance , roll
call vote was taken, with Armstrong voting ney,Pozzi remaining
silent , Randall ney, Seeman, Ney, Shaffer yea, Thornton ney,
and VanBevers yea, motion lost.
Motion was passed to have a recess of the council for 15
minutes to discuss the action they might take before the
openning of the bids on parking meters.
Council reconvined, and passed a motion to have the openning
of the parking meter bids, bids were read from several Companys
and, motion was made and roll call vote was requested.
Armstrong voting yea, Pozzi yea, Randall yea, Seeman yea,
Shaffer yea, Thornton yea, VanBevers yea. , to reject all bids.
Motion was passed to purchase the street and water dept em-
ployees for pair of boots.
Motion was passeed to ,have the Clerk call for a hearing for
the 1950 budget at the next eegular meeting of the council,
October 3 , 1949, and post notices acording to law.
