Regular meeting of the City Council present Mayor Mooney, Councilman Armstrong, Pozzi, Randall, Seeman, Shaffer, Thornton, Van. Bevers; Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting; Report of Officers read and filed: ;Police Report ; Councilman reported that the new street light arm brackets were nea.rley all installed on North & South Central East Mmith St. & West Meeker St. Letters read from Senator W.G. Magnuson, and Representative Thor C. Tollefson in reply to the moving of the Boeing Plant from Seattle.Letter received from Representative Edward J. Hart in .regard to prorating shipbuilding on the Pacific Coast. Letter read from Mr. Sears Commissioner of the South District in regard to the T;Bridge ; Application from Mr. Rod our Water Supt . for a leave of absence until the first of the year owing to poor health, was granted by the- Mayor and Council, and the Mayor appointed Kenneth Evenson in Rods plane , with approval by the council. Motion was passed for the light committee to draw up plans for -the installation and cost of light standards, on the East side of North Central betrween Meeker and Smith St to match the standards on the West side of the Street. Mayor reappointed Mr. Ed. Sipe for a six year term to the Planning Commission. Motion was made to call for bids on a six irl""water meter. Motion to call for bids on a two year garbage contract. Motion passed to call for bids on laying of water pipe. , and engineer to prepare specifications. Motion passed to have the City Attorney draw ordinance for the. payment of salaries to the councilmaen. Motion passed to have the City Attorney draw ordinance for setting up of a cumulative Fund for the purchase of FiretAucks and. equipment. Motion passed to call for bids on a new truck for the street department, too be paid for out of the 1950 budget. Ordinance on parking meters read and passed the roll call vote of the council. Armstrong voting yea, Randall yea, Seeman yea, Thornton yea, Pozzi ney, Shaffer ney, Van Bevers ney. Motion passed to call for bids on the installation of parking meeters.
