Pozzi , Randall, Seeman, Shaffer, Thornton, VanBevers; Bids were opened and read for the laying of water pipe on certain streets. North Central, Pioneer James, . Railroad, and First 'Ave, So. Bids were as follows Critcher & Raber of Seattle , $277q.00, Joe Coluccia of Seattle , 65005.00, Clemenson & Eilers of Bellevue , $3440.00, Thorburn & Logozo of Seattle , $4950.00, R.L.Moss & Co of Zenith, $ 3500.001 Stateside Construction Co, $4649.00, John Patrirelli of Seattle , $3901.00. Motion passed to award the bid to the lowest bidder that being Critcher & Raber for the amount of 1 2779.00. Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting; Report of officers read and filed police . report ; Councilman Thornton reported on the progress on James Street . Motion was passed to have the City Attorney prepare an emergency ordinance for the purchase of material for the improvement of all streets that were so beverley damaged during the freezing of last winter. Motion passed to have a street light installed at the corner of West Harrison St. and the old interhuburn rightway. Councilman VanBevers reported on two possible locations for well. sites, Motion was passed to have the water committee investigate further for locations and cost of same. Motion was passed to accept not less than $500.00 for the 10 acres of ground that the City owns on the East Hill. Motion for water committee to work with the City Attorney about the request from Joeseph Matson, to control the over flow and leaks at the East Hill. reservoir, he claiming great damage to his property. Motion passed to have the City Attorney get in touch with Mrs. Hurt in regard to the vacation of the lots that the City purchased from the County, and for him to offer her a few dollars for her fences or other expense she has on the lots. Motion was passed for the Police Committee to read over the Rules & Regulations of the Civil Service Commission and report back at the regular meeting next. The Police & Street Committee ware instructed to find out the reason for the Milwaukee to have Shinn Street nearly blocked at times with there freight cars. Motion was passed to sell the L.I.D. Bonds across the counter and pay the contractor at the end of the contract, and not issue interest baering warrents at pay periods, and for the contractor to be notified of the proceedure . Motion was passed to buy a duplicating machine for the clerk' office, and trade in the old one for the sum of $45.00, the new one to cost $185.00 les the tradein allowence.
