Regular meeting of the City Council, present Mayor Mooney,
Councilmen, Armstrong, Randall, Seeman, Shaffer, Thornton,
VanBevers.
Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting;
Report of officers read and filed, Clerk' s,Treasurers, and
Budget report ;
Motion passed to instruct the Clerk to write a letter to the
Civil, Service Commission, requesting their board to submit the
new set of Rules & Regulations they have drawn, to the council.
Motion passed to have the City Attorney draw up vacation
ordinance , and hearing notices, for the vavation of portion of
Dean St. and part of Kennebeck Ave.
Motion passed to have the committee take further time on the
working points of the cleanup ordinanee proposed.
Councilman Van Bevers recommended that the 10 acres requested
from the water committee of Thomas, rest until they show furture
need for same. also recommended that the council spend up to five
hundred dollars on the improvment of Rock Creek, and for the
City Attorney write a letter to the N.P.R.Co in regard to the
cost of their land that would be needed, and an option on same.
Motion passed to have the City Attorney write a letter to the
Planning Commission in regard to the city dump and the King County
Health Dept .
Motion passed to have the Water Committee investigate a place
for the drilling of a well, and report back at the next meeting.
Motion was passed for the City Engineer to check the present
specs on the well drilling prodject .
Motion passed to have the chairman of the Street Committee;
check all walks in the city for needed repairs.
Motion was passed to have the Attorney write a letter to the Time
Oil Co, in regard to the outdoor toilets at their service station
at South State Ave. & Morton Street .
Motion passed to purchase the required amount of clay sewer pipe
for the sewer job in North Park that is short .
Motion passed to accept the agreement of Mr. Moss to lay gravel
in the ditch as the engineer requires for the North Park Sewer job
at a cost of $4.00 per yard.
Motion was passed to have the City Attorney draw up requirments
for the Firemens' Compensation act.
Motion was passed to have the finance committee study the law
on the Employees Retirement Fund.
Attention was drawn to the council that there was a dangerous
tree in the parking strip on North Second Ave. that should be re-
moved. Street Committeee was instructed to get an estimate on'the
removal of same.
Motion was passed to instruct the Engineer to have an estimate
for the next regular meeting, for the constructing of a culvert
on milcreek.
Motion was passed to proceed with the repair of James Street .
