Regular meeting of the City Council, present Mayor Mooney,
Councilmen Armstrong, Morrill, Seeman, Sells, Thornton, VanBevers.
Councilmen elected at the March election, Armstrong, Pozzi
Randall,Shaffer VanBevers.
Minutes read and approved of the last regular meeting;
Police report placed on file for the month of May;
Councilman Seeman reported that a new dog pound was abaht
. ready to be constructed at the City Dump.
Councilman_Arma Armstrong reported that the sewer pro jects
. were shaping up in fast order.
Councilman VanBevers reported that Mr. Partridge was willing
to settle for .the city safe , by paying $150.00. Motion passed
. to accept the settlement.
Councilman VanBevers submitted to the council for study, two
, prices on office equipment, new addressograph at $992. 50 and
. one used one for $400.00. Motion passed for the clerk to in-
spect the used one to see if it would fit the needs of the office.
Letter read from the Milwaukee R.R.Co stating that they
. would improve the signals at meeker street crossing, and have
the brush cut at various crossings.
Motion passed to accept that portion of Woodford Ave. that
. &butts lots 1,2, & 3 , Block 1, Walmsleyts Addn. to Kent , for
. maintenance.
. Resolution setting a time and place for a hearing on Mr. Clarks
. Plat adopted by motion.
. Resolution read and adopted by motion to hold a hearing on
the vaction of an alley in Knob Hill Addition.
Emergency ordinance read and resolution adopted by motion,
and a hearing date set for same.
Two bids were received on crushed rock, one from City Transfer
Kent , and one from Meade Sand & Gravel Auburn,By motion passed
.the bid was awarded to the City Transfer, it being the low and
best bid. $2.70 per yard spread on the streets.
Bid of 450.00 received from Joe Blessing on addressograph
.machine, no action taken at this time.
Motion passed to purchase up to $125.00 worth of traffic signs.
Councilman Armstrong recommended that some bonding house be
.consulted without fees, in regard to setting up a program of
.finance for the Sewage Treatment Plant.
Motion was passed to hire men to operate the sewer cleaning
equipment not to exceed $400.00 dollars.
