Minutes read and approved of the last previous meeting; i Officers report read and filed, police report. ; Motion passed for the clerk to call for bids on the water well prodject. . Letter read from Mrs. Lena Holland requesting of the council to give her some of the insurance buisness, and the renewal of the liable policy when it expires. Motion passed to have the finance committee give this request their attention. Several letters read from various churches in the City request- ing the Council to close the issue of giving more Tavern Licenses. Motion was passed to place the letters from the churches on file. Ordinance # 797 by motion was passed by the council present, to give a fine . section to Ordinance # 796. Motion was passed to have the police committee look up the status in regard to minors playing pinball machines, if no control have the attorney draw one up to fit the condition. Motion was passed to set a hearing date , on August 16th. for the approval of a platf to be known as View Point Addition to Kent. Motion was passed to reject all bids on the James Street Culvert they being higher than the Engineers estimate. Motion was passed to give the James Street Culvert Job to Lester McIntyre, on time and material and have the work done under the supervision of the street committee. Motion passed to purchase two new flags, one for the Council chamber, and one for the Judge' s Office. Motion was passed to have the cracks filled in the. paved streets with tar at a cost of not to exceed plus tax $425.00.. Motion passed to have the Clerk purchase a new file cabinet for blue prints and plat maps. at a cost of $200.00 dollars. CLAIMS PRESENTED AND ALLOWED AS FOLLOWS; 2882.
