Regular meeting of the City Council present , Mayor Mooney,
Councilmen, Farman, Morrill, Seeman, Sells, Thornton, Worth.
Minutes of February 2, read and approved;
Report of Officers read and filed, Budget Clerk' s Treasurer' s
and .Fire.
Mayor appointed a committee from the council to proceed with
the building program, Chas. Sells, Larry Seeman, Alex Thornton,
and Earl Worth.
Councilman Sells reported to the council that the street lighting
program was about completed.
Councilman Farman reported on the progress that his committee and
the Health Officer were making in regard to the clearing up of
the complaint made in the vicinity of the pickle factory on West
Shinn Street.
Councilman Thornton had a request from the Kent Cemetary to have
at their expense a sign installed at Smith & Titus Streets, by
motion passed, this request was granted.
Three parking meter @ompanies were in attendance at the meeting
to explain their parking meters and the price and conditions
they could install them. Motion was passed to refer the parking
meters to the Police Committee to report at the next meeting.
Motion was passed for the Mayor and Clerk to sign an easment
for a guy wire to the Milwaukee R.R.Co. at a spur track at the
Blue Banner Food Co, and to destroy the one previous, with
the Milwaukee and the Union Pacific.
Hearing held on the final reading of an Emergency Ordinance
making an appropriation for the Police Dept.No one in the crowd
had any objections bb the passage of this emergency ordinance,
Motion by roll-call vote passed the unanimous vote of the council
present, to make this appropriation for the police Dept.
Mr. Thatcher brought to the attention of the Council, that Mr.
Jacqueme'n was still exercised over being brought into the 'City
Limits, when Mr. Miller had his property annexed to the City, Mr.
Morrill was appointed a committee of one to see Mr. Jacumen.
Mr. Walmsley requested of the Council the installation of water
mains in his new dddition to Kent, this was refered to the water
committee.
