Regular meeting of the City Council present , Mayor Mooney,
Councilmen, Edline,Farman, Morrill, Seeman, Sells, Thornton, Worth.
Minutes of January 19, read and approved;
Report of Officers read and filed Police Report ;
Street committee reported the need of the repair of- some inter-
section curbs, Motion was passed to repair same up to $500.00.
Light committee reported that all fixtures were here for the
street light improvement , and will be completed by next meeting.
Water committee reported on the progress of more water, and
Councilman Morrill reported that he had the State Health Dept..
look over the proposed sites, and had the Clerk read a letter
J received from the Dept. and their recommendation as to sites for
the drilling of a well.
Ordinance on parking meters wascread, and after some discussion
it was put to a roll-call vote, voting for parking meters were
Farman, Morrill, Seeman, Thbtn�on, and Worth. and against the
ordinance were Edline, and Sells. Ordinance # 791.
Ordinance creating an emergency for the paying of salaries for
the police Dept for the year of 1947. was read to the Council, and
a resolution passed for the calling of a hearing on the ordinance
the 16th. day of Feb. 1948. Resolution # 289.
Resolution # 287 was adopted by the Council asking the Treasurer
to deposit the moniez from the mutured 'Treasuryr notes that was
an investment of the City, plus interest to the respective funds
that they were invested from.
Resolution # 288 was adopted by the Council as to the rate 'of
pay the dog catcher would receive for the feeding of dogs impounded.
The resignation of John Turcott the Dump caretaker was acepted by
the Council, and Mr. Joe Nelson was put in his place, as dump
supervisor, and official dog catcher. Councilman Seeman recommended
. to the Council that Mr. Nelson was familiar with dogs, and he
could not exicute his work well without some place to keep the
dogs he caught . Motion was made to have the police committee build
a dog pound at the City Dump, at a cost of not more than $150.00.
A new Civil Service Commission was sworn into office to take the
place of the old, commission that had resigned. Mr. James Kelleher
to take the place of Curtis S.Farman, Mrs. Gertrude Bovell to take
the place of Howard A. Edline, and Mr. Norman M. Anderson 'to take
the place of Charles B. Sells.
