Regular meeting of the City Council present , Mayor Mooney, Councilmen, Edline , Farman, Morrill, Seeman, Sells, Thornton Worth. Minutes of December 15, read and approved; Report of officers read and filed. ; Police Report. Communications read from Joint Fact-Finding Committee for a meeting to be held at Auburn January 22, 1948. This hearing will concern highway, roads and street matters in this community. Letter was received from a Mr. O.C.Nelson, non resident property owner in Kent,with offices in the White Bldg. Seattle, notifing the Council that he intends to serve an injuction, if the Council proceeds with the Sewage Treatment Plant, with out an election, that his opinon is that the City Council is k being sold down the river. Motion was passed to adopt the Walmsley Flat to Kent . Bid was received from the Kent Motors for $1424.60 for a new police car and an allowance of $850.00 for the old car,the bid was referred to the police commettee for investigation. Bid was received from the Nelson Equipment for a front end loader for -the mower tractor for the amount of $ 1020.00, by motion this bid was rejected. i Motion was passed for the attorney to draw up an ordinance pertaining to parking meters. Mr. Geo. Allen presented to the council the way he had been treated in Kent, with the setting up his hamburger stand, and thoughtthe council was wrong by not letting him break several ordinances, which has been set up in the past to controll such buisness as his. Mayor laid out a program for his committees to work on in the coming year.
