Reading of the minutes read and approved; Report of Officers read and filed, Clerk' s Budget, And Treasurers. Motion passed by the unanimous vote of the Council to instruct the Clerk to call for bids for a new police car to replace the one now in service. Motion was passed by the unanimous vote of the council to in- struct the Clerk to call for bids, for a loader attachment for the case tractor we have now in service. Motion was passed for Rr. Roy Rugg to cut the overhanging branches on a tree in front of his place on West Meeker. Motion was passed for the Mayor to appointee a committee to investigate the request of the Washington Cities to have copies i of all ordinances forwarded to them. By motion of the council the Mayor and Clerk were requested to sign an, easement for the Milwaukee R.R.Co to install a guy wire to anchor the. spur track at the Blue Banner food Co, the property owned, by, the City. Hearing was held on the emergency water ordinance, and passed on its final reading by the unanimous vote of the council present. Plat of Walmsley Addition to Kent , was submitted to the Council Ordinance read on its first reading, and resolution Adopted by t the unanimous vote of the council present to set the 5th. day Of Jan. 1948, at $' oclock P.M. at the City Hall for a hearing on said Plat. J Report on the North Park Sewer Prodject was reported on, and owing to the fact that materials are a long way off in delivery - date, a motion was passed to instruct the clerk to place and order for a pump, and the amount of sewer pipe required in the call, for bids, that were rejected on account of the high cost. Motion was passed for the water committee to order a portable pump, for work on the water dept. Mayor Mooney drew to the attention of the Council, the problem of sphool age boys smoking, and suggested something should be done. about it. Motion passed that the police Dept be instructed , to epforce the law on selling cigarettes to minors, and allso curb, the sale of liquor, and stop the gambling if same prevails. Motion was passed to approve the final plans for the sewage treatment plant that were submitted by Forbes, Carey and Asso.
