Minutes of October 20, read and approved;
Report of Officers read and filed, police report ;
Letter read from the City Attorney, citing the powers of arrest
of the Sheriff of the county inside the incorporative limits of
a City.
Councilman Thornton drew the attention of the Council,the fine
job the Jr. Chamber of Commerce made in the survey of all street
signs and where new ones wereneeded, and a motion was passed to
inttruct the clerk to write a letter of appreciation to same.
The Clerk was instructed to write a letter to the N.P.&. G.N.
Railway Cos in :regard to a near fatal accident caused by a switching
train hiting a car, on aco-ount of the wig-wag signal not working,
and not having the crossing protected by a watchman.
By motion the Clerk was instructed to write a letter to Nell
Ramsay in regard to the brush growing over the walk, on First Ave.
North.
Permission was granted to the Consolidated Beverages to connect
to the sewer on West Saar St .
Motion was passed for the Street Committee to investigate a
tree in North Park that is creating a severe hazard to life and
property.
By motion the clerk was instructed to write a letter to the
Jr. Chamber of Commerce Wives, and to the Manager and owner of
the Vale Theatre, for their worthy.7work, they so well handled
with the children on Halloween.
Motion was passed to allow all claims presented except the
engineering bill for the treatment plant.
