Regular meeting of the City Council present , Mayor Mooney, Council- men, Edline , Seeman, Sells, Thornton, Worth. Minutes of Sept . 2nd. read and approved: ; Reports of Officers read and filed ; Biget Treasurer' s and Clerk' s Councilman Thornton reported that the fence was taken care of at the school grounds, and Mr. Rod reported that the sidewalks at the Elemetary School were taken careof with blacktop. Police committee reported that it would cost in the amount of about $250.00 dollar to install a blinker light on Meeker St , at fourth Ave. Motion was passed to to have the light installed. Councilman Worth brought to the attention of the Council that from now on, all purchases made shall have a requistion signed by the Clerk, or claims shall not be allowed. Bids were opened and read from various people for the renewal of the Garbage contract , Motion passed to recess the meeting, so the Health and Sanitation committee , could look over the bids, and recommend to the council the lowest and best bid. Motion was passed to award the contract to Mr. C.V.Erone, cahis bid being the lowest , one can per week per month .44¢, twice a week per month, . 64, one can three times per week �, per month . 800 , _ and base charge per can over, the mininum, .$ Bids were opened for the Heating and plumbing, and Electrical work for the proposed city hall and fire station, they were referred to the building commitee for study. Motion was passed to hold a hearing on the plating of a �e�ee of ground to be known as the , Marlowe ' s First Addn. to Kent , hearing to be held October 6th. 1947. , at the regular meeting of the City Council. I Ordinance No. 784 read and passed the unanimous vote of the council present , " Land Zoning " . Mr. Best representing the Jr. Chamber of Commerce , offer to the City, school girl signs for crossings to be used by the school boy patrol. Motion was passed to accept the signs with appreciation.
