Kent Washington, November ,4 1946.
Regular meeting of the City Council ,present Ivayor Dunbar,
Councilmen, Edline ,Farman,Sells,Shoff,Thompson,':iorth.
Minutes of October read and Approved ;
Repott of Officers read and filed , police report.
Councilman Farman repotted on the parking lot Mrs . `r'lrenick
offered to the City for Parking cars ,and they recommended that
it was not suited for the purpose of a public parking tot .
Councilman Shoff recommended to the council a change in the
water rates of large users of water, to bring our rates up
in range of other Cities and Towns of the State , .
Motion was passed to have the City Attorney drawup an
amendment to the water ordinances in regard to a change in rates
10 ,000 cu.ft. to 30 ,000 cu. ft. 8V per 100 cu. ft.

Councilman Sells reported on the controversy he had with Mrs .
Marshall living at Smith and Central in regard to cutting her
shrubs that overhang the walks ,and the fixing of a bad hole in
the walk,P.;otion was passed to have the City _.ttorney write her
a letter in regard to this matter for action.
V Resolution ti 275 adopted by the unanimous vote of the council
to pay W1650 .00 for the three acres and rightawiay into same ,for
the sewage disposal plant site .
Mir. Chas . Leber ask permission from the council to cut certain
trees on the dump property ,and pay ye2b .00 per 1000 lin.ft."las
referred to the finance committee for advisement.
Councilman "dline brought to the attention of the council ,that
the garbage collector was not performing his duties as he
should in regard to picking up the garbage ,as his contract calls
for ,and referred to the many complaints that are coming into the
clerk' s office ,and recommended that the council look into the
matey of buying a truck of their owne ,and hireing a man to do
the job ,at such time it was feasible to do so .
Motion was passed for the Health & Sanitation committee to
investigate a new truck and garbage body ,for the job of taking
over the garbage haul.
kiotion was passed to instruct the Clerk to write a letter to
the Bonding Company that has Mr. Hauge ' s bond in regarJ_ to the
poor performance he is rendering the people .
Councilman Shoff recomended to the council for the purchase of
a hand hoist for the water Dept. ,at a cost of :;15C .00 .1-otion was
passed for the purchase of same .
Bids were open led and read from t,'^ao bidders on the ranter main
project in north Park Addn. ,o ?in : to the delay in material
the bids were referred to the water committee for action and
recommendation to tlil, council.
Engineer gave his estimate on the Prospect _'treet Sewer that
the residents there requested. ,end I.lso ;ave the estimate on the
James :St Culvert .11otion was passed to have the enEineer make up
plans and proposal sheets for the construction of the culvert ,a
and the clerk call for bids on same.
Potion was passed for the water committee to give a study on
the installation of crater pipes in the distributation system,
where needed to use up what materiail they had on hand .
