Regular meeting of the City Council,present Mayor Dunbar,
Councilmen,Farman,Morrill ,Sells ,Shoff,Thompson, Worth.
Minutes of August 5 ,1946 read and approved;
Report of Officers reed and filed; Budget , Tressurers,and Clerk' s.
Report read from the engineer in regard to repairing the James St.
bridge that crosses Mill Creek,and the excavation of ditt from the
East side of Alvord St. ,
Councilman Thompson reported on the grading of guiberson St. ditch
to allow better drainage ,and reported on the price the dog catcher
would pick up dogs at ,each dog picked up would be the fee of 1 1 .00
per dog.and delivered to the dog kennels for board for three days.
Letter from Mr. R.W.Arney asking permmission to have a beer and
wine outlet at fourth & Meeker,no action taken on account of having
the maximum Taverns in the City Now.
Petition received with 29 signers to leave the angle parking on
the West Side od First Rtreet,and an other petition received with
125 signers against haveing the angle parking and to change it to
parallel parking.
Motion was passed to leave the parking up to the Chief of Police
and police committee with power to act.
Resolution # 274 read and adopted ,fixing the price for the catching
of dogs and board.
Motion was passed to have the water committee draw plans for the
creation of more water for our system,on account of such large con-
sumption this year.
No objections to the extension of the City Limits ,submitted by E.E.
Miller and Marie Miller,Motion was passed for the Attorney to draw
Ordinance to accept extension of same.
Motion was passed to accept the Northern View Addl to Kent, .
Motion was made to continue the review of the Repast of Sunnyside
Add.- to Kent,until the Next Meeting.
The engineer of the Santa Cruz Processing plant,stated that they
would co-operate with the City in the wastful use of water.
Motion was passed for the Clerk to call for sealed bids for the
sale- of the old Street Grader that has been replaced by a new one.
Price for the rental of the new grader was discussed and was planed
in: the hands of the Street committee for recommendation at the next
council meeting.
