Kent Washington April 1 ,1946.
Regular meeting of the City Couneil present Mayor Dunber,Council-
men,Edline ,Farman,Sells ,Shoff,Thompson,Worth.
Minutes of March 18 read and approved;
Reports of Officers read and filed ; Police Report.
Water committee recommended that the bid of Marckmann & Williams
be awarded ,for the water pipe in the amount of 7008 ft.$8,169.12
Motion by the unanimous vote of the council present to award the
contract of $8,169.12 worth of pipe for the water D6pt.as called
for at the last regular meeting.
Councilman Thompson reported that the North Park sewer proposal-
estimate was not yet complete.
Councilman Worth reported that the light project was hel up on
account of light globes not being available at present.
Meeting of the zoning committee to be held Friday evenning.
Street committee reported that they could not Bind surplus
_ street graders that would fit our needs ,Motion was made and passed
for the Clerk to call for bids for one street grader .
Water committee reported that Mr. Ben Smith would like to have the
water line extended to his Dairy at Thomas on the west Hiway.Motion
was passed to let Mr. Smith extend the water line as far as his da
dairy,and the size of pipe be limited too l-� inch and he stand all
the costs of laying and material used.
Building committee was instructed to obtain prices on the repair
of the roof on the City Hall.
Obert and Hazzard were granted the amount of their bid for re-
decorating the City Hall of $728.50 plus $100.00 extra for work
caused by the recent earth quake ,It also was mentioned that they
did a very nice job.
