Regular meeting of the City Council present Mayor Dunbar,Council-
men,Edline Farman,Morrill ,Sells ,Shoff,Thompson.
Minutes of Feb.18,read and approved except Ordinance of Milwaukee
Chicago and St. Paul R.R.Co to renew their franchise to be placed
in the hands of committee.
Report of officers read and filed ,Police and Health Officer.
Ordinance # 761 passed for the approving and accepting deeds for
and extension of second Ave . South in Watermans Acre Tracts a strip
of land 50 ft.wide and 344.07 long to be used for street purposes.
Ordinance for the renewal of the Chicago Milwaukee and St.Psul
R.R.Co.franchise was read for its first time ,and to be read for its
final passage at the next regular meeting.
Bids were opened, and read from four equipment companys in response
to purchase of a street tractor mower, they were placed in the hands
of the Street Committee for action at the next regular meeting.
Mr. Bouldron chairman of the Park board reported on the protection
that was required around the pool in the park,and stated that they
had come to no conclusion as to the required type of protection
that would be needed as yet,and suggestions would be in order and
also reported that the board took a vote at their last meeting,and
voted not to sell the small park at Titus and First St.
Mr. Mooney spoke in behalf of the American Legion requesting the
council to waiver the ordinance in regard to carnivals and street
dances held in the City,if the Legion went ahead with their plan
of a large celebration this summer.Motion was passed to grant the
Legion this request.
Councilman Edline suggested that the City clean the rubbish from
the Cemetery hill road ,and have it at least presentable on
Memmorial Day.Moltion was passed for the clerk to write Mr. Hauge
the garbage collector to cover his trucks so the garbage would not
blow off on the route to the dump,and to clean the rightawsy upland
keep it cleen,and for the street dept to give the cemetery road a
thourgh cleanning be fore Memorial Day.
Motion was passed for the Clerk to call for bids for cast Iron
Pipe for the water Dept. -
