Regular meeting of the City Council present ,Mayor Dunber,Council- men,Edline ,Farman,Sells,Shoff,Thompson,Worth. Minutes of Jan.21,46 read and approved except that the surfacing of meeker Ave . would be to Central At instead of R.R.Ave. Report of Officers read and filed ,Police and Library. Motion was passed for the light committee to proceed with the light- ing plan as submitted. Motion was passed to not close either of the two streets recommended by the Northern Pacific R.R.Co ,and notice send to same . Letter received from the Chicago ,i,'Lilwaukee and St.Paul R.R. Co requesting the City to inform them of the cost of their share of the improvment of West Meeker. Mayor appointed Forbes & Brett as City Building inspectors. Bids were opened and read from various contractors ,Motion was passed to award it to the lowest bidder,which was ,Thorburn & Logozo of Seettle , .and the Mayor and Clerk to sign the contract with the Engineers approvel. ,of the bidder.The amount of- the lowest bid 4991.20 for the renewal of a storm drain on South Central . Bids were opened for the redecorating of the interior of the City Hall ,no action was taken on account of further study of the building committee. Report of the Attorney in regard to the power and ordinances of the City Health Officer Letter from Forbes & Brett Engineers to accept the appointment of City Engineers and agreement as to the pay and work they are required to do. Motion was passed to remove the OCD office at the notth end of the stage ,no further need of same . Motion was passed for the clerk to write Mr. wooden J.P. a letter in regard to the space that he was permitted to use to hold court in the large room upstairs . Mr. Rod brought up the question in regard to the poor cooperation of the persons that take out plumbing permits that do not request an inspection before the work is closed up so that he can make a p proper inspection.
