Kent Washington October 1 ,1945
Regular meeting of the City Council present Mayor Dunbar,Council-
men Edline,Farman,Sells Shoff,Thompson,gorth.
Minutes of September 17th . read and approved ;
Reports of officers read and filed ,police report.
Motion was made and passed for the clerk to write a letter to the
Sears & Williams packing shed in regard to moving the crates ,that
they have been instructed to do in the past,and have failed to do
sound placing a time limit of one week for action.
Mrs .Rose Wilson and Mrs . Grace Morgan appeered before the council
to request a one hour parking limit on the east side of Central Ave
between Smith St. and Meeker St.Motion was passed for the parking
question to be placed in the hands of the police committee ,and
chief of police.
Letter read from Mr. Edmundson of the High School in regards -to
having a signal placed on south Central at Titus St. to aid the
children across 'the street, the letter was referred to the police
committee for action from the State on the placing of a signal- at
this location.
Motion was passed to have a twenty five cent penblty placed in
the garbage ordinance for failure to pay by the 15th. of the
following month after service is rendered.
Ordinance No. 754 passed the vote of the city council present,
.to amend Sections 5 and 14 of Ordinance No. 752.
Ordinance No. 755 passed the unanimous vote of the council present
fixing the rate of charge for the collection of garbage.
Ordinance No. 756 pessed ' the unanimous vote of the council
present,providing for a cumulative Fund for the construction of a
sewage disposal plent,not to exceed 3 mills of the dollar on our
assessed valuation.
Ordinance No. 757 passed the unanimous vote of the council
present ,adopting the budget for the year -of 1946 .
Ordinance No.758 passed the unanimous vote of the council present
fixing the Tax Levy for the year of 1946.
Motion was passed for the Health office to inspect the drainage
ditches in North Parkin regard to septic tank outlets that drain
-_ direct into the ditches and cause a health menence.
Motion was passed for the Marlowe water line to be installed as
soon as labor can be made available to do the ditching.
