Adjourned regular meeting of the City Council ,present ,Mayor Dunbar,
Councilman,Edline ,Farman,Morrill,Sells ,Shoff,Thompson,Worth.
The Health and Sanitation Committee recommended to the Council
that the garbage bid be awarded to the lowest bidder that being,
Mr. John Staples of 741 First Ave . No. Kent, Washington. ,and for
Mr. Staples to post a bond of $5 ,000.00 . Motion was passed by the
unanimous vote of the council to accept Mr. Staples bid,calling
for the collection removal and disposal of garbage from the City,
at the priceof. One standard can once a week per month at .40¢
One can twice a week per month at .650 min. and One can three
times per week per month at 1.00. and a base charge of .250 per
can above the minimum per month.and for Mr. Staples to secure a
bond for $5,000.00.If a bond cannot be posted in the required time
the contract will be let to the next low bid .
Motion was passed for the Mayor and clerk to sign a contract
with Mr. John Staples for the collection and removal of garbage
under City Ordinance # 752.
Motion was passed to instruct the City Atorney to draw up an
ordinance regulating a charge per customer per month,for garbage
collection,establishing a minimum rate of .50¢ per month.
