Regular meeting of the City Council,present Mayor Dunbar,
Councilmen,Farman,Morrill,Sells, Shoff,Thompson.
Minutes of July 2nd. read and approved;
Reports of Officers read and filed: Police,Budget Treasurer's and
clerks.
Mr. Walters of the Washington Frosted Foods Inc. made a request
of the Council,to have
placed at 6th.& Shinn two Slow
s`igns,to
slow down the traffic
at that intersection,on account
of the dust
and denger.Motion was
made and passed to have placed
the signs at
6th.and Shinn St.
Ordinance # 751 read
and was placed on its final passage
by the
unanimous vote of the
council present,accepting a plat
of Mr.
Frank Bouldrons,known
as the Kent View Addition to Kent,Wash.
Mr.Henderson of and
asphalt company requested of the
council
for A&P Store at North
Central Ave.for the City to furnish
a catch -
basin and set the grade
stakes,for the laying of black
-top in the
alley in the back of three
store,Motion was passed to
have the
engineer set the grade
stakes,and final inspection on
the job at
the expense of the city,but
Motion was passed by
not the catch basin.
the unanimous vote of the council
present
to have the attorney draw
up and ordinance in regard
to collect-
ing garbage.
One bid was received
for the drainage of NorthPark.Addition,
from Burrows & Milone
of Tacoma,for the amount of $2907.50,for
trenching and constructing
culverts.Motion was passed
to accept the
bid.
George Coleman passed
away in July of this year,The
Mayor appoint-
ed his wife Mrs. Amanda Coleman to fill the vacancy until
the next
regular,eity election
in 194A as treasurer.
