Minutes of August 6th .read and approved ;
Reports of Officers read and filed ,Treasurers ,Clerks,Budget and
Health Officers .
Ordinance # 752 read and placed on its final possage ,by the unani-
mous vote of the council,and a roll call vote being the same ,in re-
Bard to fixing an ordinance to collect,remove ,and dispose of garbage
in the City of Kent,making the system compulsory upon all people
therein.A motion was passed for the clerk to call for bids to let a
contract for a two year period for the collector of garbage ,under
Ordinance # 752 ,and to be opened and let or rejected at 81oclock
Tuesday,Sept. 4th. 1945,in the council chambers at the City Hall.
Motion was passed for Lester Britt to take care of the contract
of North Park addition as the City Engineer acting ,oweing to the
death of our present engineer Mr. Fallgreen.
Motion was passed for the clerk to write a letter to the N.P.Ry.
and Milwaukee R.R. in regard to unfinished and very rough crossings.
Motion was passed for the police committee to investigate a
request for two stop lights to be installed on Central Ave. at
East Titus,and James St.for the control ! of traffic ,and protection of
children.
Motion was passed for the clerk to write a letter to the Park
board in regard to some protection for small children,in the city
park that contains the fish pool.
Motion was passed for the police committee to take action in regard
to marking out a place for a taxicab stand on the street at east
Meeker St.
