Kent Washington,June 4,1945.
Regular meeting of the City Council,present Mayor Dunbar,
Councilmen Edline ,Farman,Morrill ,Sells,Thompson,Worth.
Minutes of May 21 ,45.read and approved ;
Reports of officers read and filed;
Councilman Thompson reported on the condition of the drain
gn No. Central just outside of the City Limits ,and also -on the
garbage collecting condition,stating that he would have to trove
another two weeks to work out some plan.
The City Engineer reported to the City Council on the fill the
N.P.Railway Co was making on their trestle just south of the City.
they have filled about 300 ft.and the opinon of the people in
the vicint�y feels that it will cause a severe flood menence ,and
some action should be taken.
24 Resolution was read to the N.P.Ry. Co protesting the fill that
t ey have made 'on their rightaway, that it creates a severe fibodd
condition to the City and lands adjacent thereof.Motion was made
and passed to adopt the resolution and send same to the N.P.Ry Co.
Motion was made and passed for the Clerk to write a letter to
Mr. Phallps the Southend County Commissioner ,to have the County
engineers to look in to the matter of the danger of the fill the
N.P.Ry Co has made ,in regard to causing a sever food condition.
Mr. Truckenbrodt Supt. of Libby and McNeill ,asked the Council
if they could in the future dump their garbage into to the sewer
if they installed a proper chopping machine ,and washed it with a
great amount of peter so it would not be in the form of solids so
it would plug the sewer pipes.He also requested a larger main in
front of their plant so they could have a larger service to give
them more water when needed in peek season.
Motion was made for the clerk to write a letter to the State B
Board of Health in regard to the dumping of such garbage into the
City Sewer. .
