Regular meeting of the City Council,p-resent ,Mayor Dunber,Council- men,Farman,Miller,Sells,Shoff,Thompson. Minutes of April 16 ,1945 read and approved; Report of Officers , read and filed. , Police and Fire. Ordinance No. 750 passed the unanmous vote of the council present , in regard to the Rules of The Road ,as passed by the 1939 session of the legislature . Motion was passed for the City Attorney to investigate the fessi- ,bilty,of geting the old car lots cleaned up around the City,and to see if it could be curtailed in the future. Motion was made and passed,by recommendation of the building committee to move the wall out in the OPA office to give them a little more spece ,and to have a wall placed in the Clerk' s office to give the Police Judge more privacy when he is holding C6urt. Two bids were received on the price of a seven foot of street pavetagt strip 210 ft.long,on R.R.Ave.South.between Gowe and Titus , . One from J.W.Callaway at .650 per square Foot,and one from Concrete Construction Co. at .60 cents per sq. ft.Replace curbing at1.10 and 1.00 per lin. ft.The consideration of these bids were placed in the hands of the Street Committee for further study. One bid was received on the truck for the Street Lept.from the Kent Motoxs,st the sum of $1,485.72 for a chevoolet 1Q ton, 60 inch wheelbase truck.Motion was pased to be placed in the hands of the street committee ,and no further action until the City receives the priorty to purchase some . Councilman Thompson reported on the progress being made in regard to investigating the garbage collection situation. Motin was made and passed to grant the Fire Chief permmission to sell the pump cans that the Fire Dept. made for OCD use ,and replace same to the following funds that they were paid out of. The Park Board were present,and the question was brought up about the installation of the Servicemens Pylon that was to be placed in the park,It was desided that it was up to the Park board as to where it should be placed. Motion was made and passed ,for the Health Office to see Mrs . -*A Boback about the drain from her septic tank, that she claimed was fixed. Motion was. made and passed to have the locks change to all depts in the City,that there were some keys that were not accounted for. and new keys to be in the custody of the City- Clerk.
