Kent Washington April 2 ,1945.
Regular meeting of the City Council,present Mayor Dunbar ,Councilmen
Farman,Morrill,Sells ,Shoff,Thompson,Worth.
Minutes of March 19 ,read and approved;
Repo,rts of Officers read and approved;
Councilman Thompson reported on the condition of the garbage in the
alley in the rear of the A&P store ,the Health Officer said he had a
talk with the meneger,and he said it would be taken care of,and it
would not be a source of trouble from now on.
The engineer reported that the sidewalks at intersections ,which
were in bad shape would soon be taken care of just as soon as the
contractor could get around to it.
Ordinance # 748 declaring an emergency to increase the salaries of
city employees ,was pasted on its second reading by the unanimous
vote of the council- present.
Ordinance # 749 regulating taxicabs in the City,and fixing a license
was read and passed by the unanimous vote of the city council present.
Motion was made and passed to intruct the clerk to write a letter
to Mr.Fred Boback at 705 North Central,in regard to fixing his septic
tank,so the over flow does not run on the ground along the walk.
Motion was made and passed to place the matter of the drainage
condition in North Park in the hands of the drainage committee with
power to aet.
Certification from the King County Auditor of the results of the
March 13th.General election.George Coleman elected Treasurer,
Chas. B.Sells , M.W.Morrill,and Howard A.Edline elected for council
four year term,Earl L.Worth elected council at larIge for two year
term.
