Kent Washington January 15 ,1945.
Regular meeting of the City Council present,Meyor Dunbar,
Councilmen,Miller,Sells ,Shoff,Thompson,Worth.
Minutes of Jan. 2nd.1945,read and approved;
Reports of Officers read and filed,Budget,Treasurer's, Clerk's
end Librarian' s report read and filed;
Mr. Grunstad appeared before the council ,asking them to go on
record as to requesting the State to continue the operation of
their cannery located in this City, that it did a lot of good,for
the ones that grew victory gardens,and did not have time to do
their ownn canning,on account of working in the defense plants.
Councilman Worth made a motion and passed to have a committee
appointed to investigate why the State was planning to dis
continue the operation of the plant at this time.The Meyor
appointed on this committee,Worth,Thompson,Shoff. ,to report at
the next regular meeting.
Councilman Shoff chairman of the water committee reported on
the laying of a main for water to serve a family out side of 'the
City limits in North Park,the recommendation of the committee
was for the owner of the property to lay their main to connect to
the City main ,and they could have water.
Motion was made and passed to purchase the required amount of
paint ,and have the Hi-ways through the City striped.
The City engineer reported on the progress of fixing the side-
walks at the inter-sections at 4th. Meeker St.
